Mine owner comes to rescue

A local mine owner in McDowell County came to the rescue of half a dozen families trapped by a large rock and mud slide. Railroad Yard Road in and out of Iaeger was blocked by a large boulder and neither the state nor the county had the resources to remove it. When Eddie Asbury found out, he brought in his mining equipment. The road should be open for traffic soon.
