Kanawha County Looks at Changes in School Lunch Billing
Some changes are expected for school lunch payments in Kanawha County this fall. The school board this week gave first approval to changes in the policy that will mean payment for lunches would have to paid, in full, 25 days after the billing date instead of 15 days after. And the bill would be considered past due if not paid in full by the 30th instead of the 25th. And if a child is sent to school repeatedly without a lunch, the local district won’t have to notify the Department of Health and Human Resources and Child Protective Services. School board members said it’s all part of bringing the procedures up to state codes. A second approval is necessary before the changes go into effect.
