flood victims beware

The attorney general’s office is warning flood victims to be on their toes so they don’t become victims a second time. Patrick Morrisey is warning of a scam that goes something like this: Someone will call claiming to be with the Department of Health and Human Resources, and they ask that you wire them a grant application fee so you can get your grant money. Morrisey confirms that government agencies will not call asking anyone to wire money. If you feel you have been scammed, contact the consumer protection division at the AG’s office.
