Deal with Alpha

A 15-million dollar deal between Alpha Natural Resources, the EPA and Contura Energy, the company that purchased most of Alpha has been reached. As part of the deal, the EPA says they will drop a lawsuit against Alpha, but the Alpha headquarters’ building in Julian will become collateral to assure the reclamation projects are completed. This deal still needs the stamp of approval from the bankruptcy court.
