Congress Wants More Data on WV Drug Epidemic
A Congressional committee sent a letter Friday to the head of the DEA, asking for data about the number of opioid pills shipped to West Virginia. The House Energy and Commerce Committee is investigating the nation’s opioid drug problem and looked at West Virginia zip codes. The committee says there appears to be an increase in the amount of hydrocodone and oxycodone that wholesale distributors provided to those zip codes over several years and the committee wants more data from the DEA.
