Colleges Celebrate History with New Publications
Marshall University and West Virginia University are teaming up to bring state history to the masses. The two universities are offering free online access to publications on the Mountain State’s history. Called “West Virginia History: An Open Access Reader,” the project’s history lessons range from European settlement to mountaintop removal. The collection taps previously published essays from the journal “West Virginia History” and other WVU Press publications. The history reader was launched this month by WVU Press and WVU Libraries. It can be found at http://textbooks.lib.wvu.edu/index.html.
