Clendenin Considers Annexation Plan
Some areas around Clendenin could become part of the city under an annexation plan. About 166 houses and seven businesses would come under the new city limits under the plan, which includes unincorporated areas along Route 119, the Kelly Hill area, Osborne addition, Cromwell Estates and Cobb Station along Route 4. WCHS TV reports there’s a petition circulating with 227 signatures opposing the annexation.
The idea was brought forward by Clendenin council members, who say the benefits would be a 24-hour police presence. There was a public hearing last night at the Kanawha County Courthouse, and no final decision yet.
