Cleaning up an oil spill on the Big Sandy River

The City of Kenova has reopened its water intake on the Big Sandy River after a towboat leaked 13-hundred gallons of oil into the river Thursday. The intake was reopened over the weekend after acceptable test samples. Nearly 4-thousand customers are still under a boil water advisory. The Coast Guard says they’ve recovered nearly 800-gallons of oil from the river, so far.
