Call 811 Before You dig
The Public Service Commission of West Virginia is tying in today’s date with the reminder to call before you dig. Spokesperson Susan Small says to call 811 before you dig on 8-11 and every other day, whether it’s putting in a mailbox, building a deck, planting a tree or laying a patio, any project that requires digging. Fall brings an influx of new projects, and with it comes the risk of hitting an underground utility, which can lead to fines, injuries, and outages. Once you call, they’ll come out and mark utilities with flags within 48 hours. See more at www.wv811.com or www.psc.state.wv.us.
