West Virginia Ranks Last for Business
West Virginia continues to fare poorly in an annual ranking that looks at business climates. The Mountain State ranked last for the third straight year in Forbes’ Best States for Business in 2017. The magazine said West Virginia’s population growth and college attainment rate are the lowest in the country. It also cited its slow employment growth and mentioned the state’s legal climate ranks among the worst in being business friendly. Ohio ranked 14th, Kentucky 35th, and Maryland 26th.
