State Senator is Developing Legislation to Recall Elected Officials
Gov. Jim Justice switched his registration to the Republican Party a week ago, and that may lead to a recall vote. State Senate Democrat, Sen. Richard Ojeda of Logan is looking for support for a bill he wants to introduce in the next legislative session that would give citizens power to vote officials out of office during their term. The Gazette-Mail reports citizens would be able to gather signatures on a petition for the recall, and then a county, town, or the state would host an election. The draft legislation is in the beginning stages now .
