State of Emergency at WV prisons

Governor Justice has declared a state of emergency due to staffing levels at the state’s detention and correctional facilities. Declaring a state of emergency gives officials the authority to call up the National Guard to help with staffing issues. Hundreds of correctional officers’ positions are empty across the state.
