St. Albans May Shorten Hiring Process for Firefighters

The St. Albans City Council this week accepted a resolution about how the city hires new firefighters. The Candidate Physical Ability Test or CPAT, is part of the process now and it takes more than 8 weeks to finish. They’re coming up with a new regimen that tests for the same abilities but shortens the process. There’s no immediate plan to hire new firefighters in St. Albans, but they’re laying groundwork for the future.
