Increases in Unemployment Rates

All 55 counties reported increases in unemployment rates for January. The statewide unemployment rate is now at five-point-six percent, according to WorkForce West Virginia. The lowest unemployment is in Jefferson County with just a bit more than three-percent of the work force out of work. But in Calhoun County the rate jumped to 15-point-seven percent.
