Charleston Police to Open New Substation Downtown

Charleston police are getting ready to open a downtown substation between the Charleston Town Center and Summers Street. With crime in downtown Charleston a growing problem, police decided this summer to make use of that facility. It will be near the transient mall where reports have increased about drug activity and crime. The K9 division and some patrol divisions will work out of that office, which opens next week.
