Candidates Meet in Gubernatorial Debate
The nominees for governor met last night to debate who can better take charge of the state’s struggling economy and create jobs without tax hikes or large cuts. During last night’s debate, Democrat Jim Justice positioned himself as an outside-the-box thinker who would apply new ideas to job creation. Republican Bill Cole, said cuts to regulation, legal reform and other changes are needed to create a better business climate. Third-party candidates didn’t participate. The next gubernatorial debate is Tuesday, October 11th.
