Addressing the opioid crisis

The state Office of Drug Control Policy held a meeting yesterday to get input on how West Virginia should respond to the opioid epidemic. The panel heard from local health associations, drug court administrators, and professionals working in the treatment and recovery field, and recovering addicts. Drug overdoses killed Nearly 900 West Virginians last year. The state has the highest drug overdose rate in the country.
