Putnam County Deputy injured in chase

A Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy is recovering after he was injured during a chase early Tuesday morning. Deputies were investigating a suspicious person report on Armour Road in the Rock Branch when the suspect, Michael Ward, fled on foot. The deputy was injured when fell over a log during the chase. He underwent surgery for a shoulder injury, and is expected to be okay.
