The West Virginia Board of Education is appealing a judge’s ruling that set aside the board’s rejection of a school consolidation plan in Nicholas County. The board announced its intentions in a news release Thursday to appeal the ruling to the state Supreme Court. Last week a Kanawha County judge sided with the Nicholas County school board in a lawsuit filed against the state board. Judge Duke Bloom said the state board acted arbitrarily.
