Retirement of judges
It might have been too late to take a question about raising the retirement age of judges off of Tuesday’s ballot, but that didn’t stop more than 38,000 Valley voters — and 2.3 million statewide — from stating their opnion. If the question would have counted in Tuesday’s election, the Constitutional amendment would have failed. A court ruling last week delayed the amendment vote until November and most counties were unable to comply with a directive from the Legislature that they remove the question from the ballot, so many counties posted notices that the question wouldn’t count.
