Nitro Plans to Upgrade Park

Nitro city leaders want to make improvements to the city park. A committee is reviewing plans, and then the issue will go back before the full city council, but it’s a $4 million to $5 million vision that would repair slippage to the river bank, put in new walking trails, a soccer field, and upgrade the baseball fields. The contract for the project with Baker Engineering to do the work hasn’t been finalized yet.
