Former chidren’s choir director pleads guilty to embezzlement
The former executive director of the Appalachian Children’s Choir has admitted to embezzling nearly 100-thousand-dollars. Holly Portillo pleaded guilty to four counts of embezzlement. Prosecutor said she used the money to fund a frivolous lifestyle including beach trips, hotels, meals, and thousands of dollars spent on dogs. Portillo was sentenced to four, one to ten year concurrent prison terms.
