Feedback on Common Core Standards Continues to Roll In
Thousands are weighing in with opinions on Common Core grade level expectations and standards…in fact about 200-thousand comments have rolled in. State Superintendent Michael Martirano called that amount of feedback “historic” during an update to legislators this week. He’s lobbying to keep Common Core standards, which have been widely criticized. A comprehensive review of the standards is underway now, and probably won’t be finished until November. A final recommendation is due to the State Board of Education by December, and lawmakers are being kept in the loop. Republicans have signaled they’ll try to repeal Common Core.
