DEP Fines Mingo County

West Virginia environmental regulators are fining the Mingo County Public Service District $12,000 for releasing pollutants into a nearby waterway. The Department of Environmental Protection found issues around the Chattaroy collection system and pump station in Delbarton and said the facility exceeded its permit limits of pollutants sent into waterways 81 times from the first quarter of 2012 through the first quarter of 2014. There were another 14 instances from the second quarter of 2014 through the first quarter of 2015.
