Blankenship convicted

Former Massey CEO Don Blankenship will spend a year behind bars and pay a quarter-of-a-million-dollar fine for violating mine safety standards. Blankenship was convicted in December after the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion and was sentenced yesterday to the maximum penalty. He told the families of the victims he was sorry for their losses, but there was also yelling by some outside the courthouse.
