Anniversary of church incident today

South Carolina senators are marking the anniversary of last year’s church shooting in Charleston with stirring speeches on the senate floor. Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott made remarks after the day’s final votes, honoring the nine victims of the shooting at Charleston’s Emanuel AME Church that happened on June 17th, 2015. Graham honored the families of the victims, saying they “channeled their grief into something constructive,” and “reminded us of what humanity is all about.” Scott said that the world will see from Charleston “that you cannot destroy love with hate.”
