JOHNNY DEPP has been voted "People" magazine's 2009 Sexiest Man Alive. He joins GEORGE CLOONEY and BRAD PITT as the only men to earn the title twice. (--Depp also got it in 2003.)

KIRSTEN DUNST recently took a cross-country road trip with a friend. Their stops included Graceland, New Orleans and the Grand Canyon. --And she learned something very important: If you're an American who doesn't live on either coast, YOU'RE POOR. (???) --She says, quote, "After we were done, I was like, 'Wow, America is so poor. Just the towns you come across . . . all that's there are restaurants and gas stations. --There are beautiful stretches of pasture, but for the most part, people live simply. The East and West Coast are so different from the rest of America." (A lot of us might be poor Kirsten, but what you don’t realize is that we are way richer than you!)

 

Police were called to PARIS HILTON'S house Tuesday night because a man and a woman were having a nasty argument in her driveway. Paris says she wasn't involved, though. She and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt were in the house asleep at the time. --Paris described the combatants as, quote, "Doug's houseguests from hell" . . . whatever that means. --A neighbor, however, claims he saw Paris and Doug arguing in the driveway . . . and getting into a shoving match.

 

NICOLE RICHIE has been hospitalized with pneumonia . . . but her rep says, quote, "She is doing well."

 

The IRS is going after "Girls Gone Wild" scumbag JOE FRANCIS for $33.8 MILLION in back taxes. And that's just for THREE YEARS . . . 2001 through 2003. (--Imagine what he must have EARNED if that's just his tax bill.) --Two weeks ago, Joe pleaded guilty to two counts of filing false tax returns. It was part of a deal that kept him from doing any time. He claims the IRS is going after him now because they're mad they didn't get him behind bars.

 

Star magazine claims that Katie Holmes is ready to walk away from Tom Cruise, and she may spill the beans about their marriage. A source says Katie could get as much as $15 million for "an explosive and embarrassing expose," about her union with Tom. Among the revelations bound to come out are claims that they've never slept an entire night together. The pair sleep in separate bedrooms, allegedly because Tom snores. In addition, a source says Tom likes to "parade around the house in military uniforms," adding, "It makes him feel handsome." In fact, Tom's so enamored with himself that he spends hours in front of the mirror checking out his wrinkles.
