Trial Underway in Child Neglect Case

The trial is underway for a mother, whom police say was found passed out on drugs with her little boy strapped in the back seat of her car. Jury selection in the case against Susan Adkins started Monday. She is charged with child neglect after driving last summer to an alley off McQueen Street in Charleston, where she injected herself with cocaine and passed out. It's not clear how long she was unresponsive before neighbors found her in the car, with her two-year-old son in the backseat. It was 85 degrees out that day and the child was locked in the car, with the windows rolled up, and the air conditioning wasn't on, but the child was okay. For more, go to www.wsaz.com.
