Car Show Impacts Traffic in Charleston
With the Charleston Boulevard Rod Run and Doo Wop car show going on, there are some traffic issues to consider. The antique and classic cars will be on display along Kanawha Boulevard through Sunday. The city of Charleston says Kanawha Boulevard will be restricted between Leon Sullivan Way on the East End to Ohio Avenue on the West Side. One westbound lane of the boulevard will remain open between Leon Sullivan Way and Capitol Street and between Clendenin Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Traffic will also be restricted on Laidley and Summers streets between Virginia Street and Kanawha Boulevard, and parking on those blocks and in the metered lot behind City Hall will be limited to event-related vehicles. Hours for the car show are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. There's also live music each night and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
