Tribute to Mingo Sheriff Crum Finally Able to Happen
A motorcycle ride originally planned for early May was finally able to happen over the holiday weekend. The “Poker Run” memorial ride in honor of Mingo Sheriff Eugene Crum was originally supposed to be part of the Rally in the Valley, but was delayed because of rain. The ride included about a hundred bikers, and began in Williamson and went past the spot where Crum was killed while eating lunch in his car in early April, then the bikers went out into Mingo County past his grave. Rosie Crum, Eugene’s widow was named acting sheriff after his murder, and attended the ride.
