Man Charged in St. Albans Horse Death
A man is facing charges after a horse was fatally shot last weekend. Neighbors heard shots Sunday near Lower Falls Road in the St. Albans area, and Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies were called out to investigate. A dead horse was found the next day, perhaps not seen the night before because of darkness. The criminal complaint shows 39-year old Delmar Dean Lacy II of St. Albans admitted to shooting his rifle while celebrating a friend's birthday. Thirty-one shell casings were found in the yard. Apparently stray bullets hit one horse and killed it, and the stray bullets injured another horse that was pregnant. She was shot in the neck, but survived. Lacy has been charged with a felony.
