Company Pays After Sissonville Explosion
NiSource has paid more than $231,000 to reimburse the costs of fighting the fire that broke out in December after a pipeline explosion. The natural gas explosion burned part of Interstate 77 near Sissonville and destroyed 5 homes. There are reports that more than $165,000 from NiSource Inc. will go to the state Division of Highways to pay for repairs to a section of Interstate 77 that was charred in the blast. State and County agencies who responded will also be reimbursed. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the explosion.
