Hours change for Social Security Office in Charleston and St. Albans
Social Security offices in Charleston and St. Albans have new public office hours. They've announced they'll be closing to the public a half early each day and at noon on Wednesdays, effective Nov. 19. The new public hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to a news release from Social Security. Starting Jan. 2, the offices will close to the public at noon every Wednesday. Employees will still be at the office processing claims and working on interviews during the times the office is closed to the public, but this is a way to cut down on overtime. The Social Security office is also closed the day after Thanksgiving.
