No charges yet in fatel I-77 wreck

More has been released about the fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 77 this week. It happened at mile marker 106 of I-77 on Wednesday. Officers say a car driven by 46-year old Winnifer G. Jones of Huntington, was headed north during heavy rain and she saw the pedestrian very near or in the travel lane and attempted to stop, but couldn't. 54-year old Stephen M. Staudt of Ohio was hit and killed. The accident is still being investigated and no charges have been filed. Once the investigation is finished, information will be forwarded to the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney for determination if charges are warranted.
