I am selling
one of my Barry Bonds rookie cards to the highest bidder! I
bought it when I was in Jr. High School. I, for one, do not
believe that Barry took steroids at any point in his career and
believe he will be in the Hall of Fame someday.

Cell site bear stories bear
little credibility
September 29, 2006 - Many
hundreds of wireless industry workers opened emails during
the past two weeks only to find attachments of photographs
or pictures within the message of an electrocuted brown
bear. The forwarded emails contained short messages such as:
"Bear ends life at cell site," "Verizon Missouri
problems," "Failed power at a site," and "Cell site bear."
Dozens were received by WirelessEstimator.com, some with
messages regarding locations; one even provided the amperage
that killed the 600-pound brown bear. Another emailer
provided a September 8 date for the bear's demise. One was
broadcast with the message, "#$!%, just when we're getting a
handle on avian mortality we get this. What next, bear-proof
breaker boxes?"
What was quickly becoming a cell site urban legend unraveled
this week. The photographs are real; the bear did bite into
an electrical line, but in a state park in Anchorage,
Alaska. The 7-foot bruin was found August 10 by a young girl
riding her bicycle along a path.
The bear bit into 5,000 volts of energy, according to a
Chugach Electric Association spokesman Phil Steyer, who said
the apparatus did not belong to the company, but likely to
the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, the owner
of the land where the bear was found.

The 7 Legged Deer??
Rick Lisko of Osceola, Wisconsin was
driving his truck last month, when he ran over a deer.
And when he got out to look at it. . . he realized it wasn't a
normal deer. Not at all. This deer had SEVEN legs!

her prom because she showed up wearing a self-designed sequined
dress patterned after the Confederate flag has filed suit,

These

those of you who are not local, Cross Lake is in Shreveport,

mouth! Are you ready to go skiing on Cross Lake?! If you ski at
the west end of the lake -- try not to fall.

auction on Wednesday when it fetched $104,168,000 at Sotheby's

Disguised in a tear-away referee
uniform, Mark Roberts jumped out of the crowd at the
beginning of the second half, ripped his clothes off, and ran to
midfield wearing nothing but a plastic football covering his
genitals. The naked Roberts danced around for nearly half a
minute to the delight and hilarity of the crowd. He had the
words "Super Bowel" written on his back along with the
Internet casino's website address. New England Patriots
linebacker Matt Chatham relieved some big game tension by
leveling Roberts before security finally hauled the dazed
streaker off the field.
Recognized by the Guinness Book
Of World Records as the world's most prolific streaker, Mark
Roberts has made a name for himself by streaking various
sporting events mainly in Europe and abroad. Given the
unprecedented security measures in place at Houston's Reliant
Stadium for the Super Bowl, Roberts' first successful North
American streak is without a doubt his greatest yet.

What's that on top of that pole?

It's a deer. In the Baltimore area. It was hit by a train and
flew up on the wires.
Baltimore Gas & Electric says this
service call never came to them and that there have been no
incidents of dead deer on top of power poles. Still makes for a
great story!

Cody Mullennix, 27, of Howe, was fishing from
a bank on the Texas side of Lake Texoma Friday when his rod and
reel went down, the Herald Democrat (Sherman-Denison) reported
in Monday editions. After a 20-minute struggle, he was able to
land the 60-inch long blue catfish. He needed help from longtime
angling buddy Jason Holbrook to weigh the fish."I was out
there by myself and we didn't have any scales beside a 50-pound
set," Mullennix said. "Jason brought a 100-pound set
of scales. This fish bottomed those scales before we ever even
got the fish off the ground.''Officials say it's one of the
largest caught in Texas. After getting an accurate weight of the
fish, the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens
transported the fish back to the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department facility to be put on display.
