Chris Arnold send us these pictures and this email:

"Al, I'm not sure if this falls in the same category as the snake pictures
from a few months back but here is a link to a supposed 412lb Whitetail
Buck Deer. "
What do you think? Do  you know anything about this buck? Let us know if you do. Email us at al@wqbe.com

And while you are at it...take at look at this BIG COYOTE Here!

Here's what you have to say....

the deer probably weighed 412lbs. on hoof, but the eyes are closed, which almost never happens, the tongue is in its mouth, which always hangs out,  and the two border jumpers are probably in jail after these photos. I don't think its a real photo, but it looks good. thanks d.atkins   elkview
I am not sure what type of trickery was done to these photo's but one thing's for certain
they have been altered, a deer never dies with it's eyes shut.

where was is taken at is the question ? I say yes it's possible in Canada
I've watched a lot of big game hunting shows and have seen several 300 to 350
pound deer taken so it very well could be true. one other thing this could be is
a bottle feed deer on one of these pay to hunt ranches that do there own
genetics with several deer. notice the two helpers in the photo don't look like
there are from around here but hired hands on a ranch. please let us know where
he came from.
?
I THINK IF IT IS REAL, MUST HAVE BEEN VERY DEPRESSED & DID NOTHING BUT LIE
AROUND ALL THE TIME EATING. I KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT ARE THAT WAY. I THINK THE
PICTURE IS A FAKE. GOD BLESS, MARIA

I just looked at the 412 pound Buck. Is it really real? Where did they
kill it at? Was it around here?

I haven't heard anything about his buck but he looks real enough to me. Do you by
chance have the pic of that huge rattlesnake that was caught here in West
Virginia? If so, would you forward it to me? I'm from Michigan and they just can't
believe it. Thanks April

AL & JEFF
I don't know what to think of this? Maybe it was bitten by a clay county
rattlesnake! You all are doing a wonderful job with the food drive and
everything. I hope you and your families have a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Gene

Look at the hunter's hands in all of the pictures. Especially the second
picture. Pretty armature using Photo Shop. Hank G. Shafer

Where was this deer taken? Looks to be a Mule Deer to me. I' killed my share
of Whitetail and Mule Deer. Yes there are Mule Deer's with white tails, more
with black tail's. Look at the head, looks like a Mule deer to me not a
Whitetail. Have a lot of questions about this one!

I was looking at this buck, and I think it would be really hard to forge this one.
Amanda

My Husband and I just looked at the "big deer" I
know West Virginia people believe anything but come on were not that stupid!!!!!
Look at the bow in the second picture it looks a lot bigger than any bow we
have ever seen............Donna & Sean from Ashford
 Al,
I looked at the 412lb deer pictures and do believe that some trickery was used in the photography. I believe that angles and depth perception make the deer appear bigger than it actually is. However, if you look at the rack in comparison to the hunters hand in photo one, and then compare that to the neck of the deer, this is a huge deer (my guess is high 200lb range). A definite shooter indeed. I disagree with one of the other writers about this possibly being a mule deer, and this is why. I have a picture of a huge whitetail that my son shot this year and the heads are very similar, it is just an older whitetail. The next time I am in the store I will show you the picture and you can judge for yourself.
Thanks for linking me up to this picture, we enjoy listening to WQBE,  Chuck from Pt. Pleasant, WV

It was probably a decent-sized deer to begin with, however, there has been significant photo manipulation.  I've blown up the pictures to point out some details. On bigbuck1 look at the noticeable difference between the left and right side of the deer. the right side has been stretched and modified.  On bigbuck2 you can see the shadow way too well. If the shadow was going to be that dark because of camera flash, it would have ended up on the guys hands as well as the sleeves of his jacket. On bigbuck3, you can see the outline of the left arm of the guy in the green sweatshirt.  You can see the camo on the hunter is smudged, probably to cover up a graphical defect.  The back line of the deer is messed up as well.

Also, they should have flopped that deer.  Can you say "gut shot?"  Speaking of that, here's another question: have any bow hunters ever gut shot a deer and seen that much bright red blood that far back on a deer?
