R.I.P. Shain - David - Donald (4/2/13)

Everyone has spent so much time talking about the tragic deaths of the 3 young men is Sissonville yesterday. Shain & David Gandee and their friend, Donald Robert Myers. It’s hard to find comfort when death comes, but we have found some quotes that we think fit the life of especially Shain…for Shain’s family and family members of his friends -David & Donald this morning..

This quote from Pope Paul VI

“Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.”

And this one from Mark Twain

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.

And for all of us left behind…this poem..

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.

I’m following the path God has laid, you see.

I took His hand when I heard His call.

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work, or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I found the peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss

Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and share with me.

God wanted me now, He set me free
